The Wolf, the Duck, and the Mouse

The Wolf the Duck and the Mouse

Title:  The Wolf, the Duck, and the Mouse

Author:  Mac Barnett

Illustrator:  Jon Klassen

Summary:
A mouse is gobbled up by a wolf one day, and he descends into the pitch black belly of the beast. He is astonished to find that he is not alone, and that, in fact, a duck has been living there for quite some time. They learn to live quite comfortably in the relative safety of the wolf’s stomach, but their happiness is threatened by a hunter who has his sights set on their host. Can the mouse and the duck protect the wolf? Or will they be forced to find a new home in the forest? The Wolf, the Duck, and the Mouse is a darkly funny story that is similar in tone to Klassen’s I Want My Hat Back, This Is Not My Hat, and We Found a Hat.
