Plants Life Size Science

Title: Plants: Real Size Science

Author: Rebecca Rissman

Summary:

Do you know the basic plant parts?  You will after reading this book. As part of the Real Size Science series, Plants gives readers a very close look at roots, stems, leaves, flowers and seeds.  Although some roots like radishes are round and red, and others like crocus roots are small and thin, all roots bring water and nutrients from the soil to the plant.  The colors and sizes of leaves are compared, as well as the colors and sizes of flowers.  Readers come away with a firm understanding that plant parts can look different but serve the same function.  Pair this book with a walk outside and awaken the naturalist in us all!
