The Three Billy Goats Gruff

The Three Billy Goats Gruff

Title: The Three Billy Goats Gruff

Author: Mara Alperin

Illustrator:  Kate Pankhurst

Summary:

It’s the classic tale of the three goat brothers wonderfully illustrated, simply told, and perfect for any age group!  Three brothers, Baby, Middle, and Big want so much to cross the river to get to the freshest, greenest grass in the land.  There’s only one problem—the ugly troll who lives under the bridge will not let them cross!  The brothers hatch a plan on the fly and Baby and Middle cross without a worry.  When it is Big’s turn to cross, he may need to use a different approach on the green warty troll.  Mara Alperin’s version is not too scary, and short and sweet.  It is the perfect invitation to explore the world of fairy tales, and can be used to challenge older students to engineer a solution to safely get three billy goats across a tub of water.
